Dimitrios Boutolas

The Dimitrios Boutolas refuge is located at the location "Stavros", at an altitude of 960 m along the road that leads from Litochoro to Prionia. It owes its name to Dimitris Boudola, one of the best Greek alpinists of the 1980s. The capacity is 30 people and it has an organized kitchen and restaurant. The surrounding area of the refuge is an ideal place as a take-off point for aviators.

Petrostruga

The Petrostruga refuge built at 1,940 meters altitude, the visitor can enjoy, in addition to the wonderful view, cooked food and drinks, the heat from fireplaces and wood stoves. The refuge can host up to 72 people. In addition, a makeshift helipad for emergencies has been created and maintained in the surrounding area of the refuge.

Spilios Agapitos

The Spilios Agapitos refuge is a magnificent stone building located on the E4 route. We find it in a beautiful location, on a natural balcony at an altitude of 2,100 m. The lodge is well equipped to accommodate up to 110 guests in the evening. It has a restaurant. The lodge has been modified over time to be a peaceful and pleasant place.

Christos Kakalos

The Christos Kakalos refuge is located on the Plateau of the Muses at an altitude of 2650m. Since 2003 the refuge has also been operating as a climbing and ski mountaineering centre. It has a capacity of 17 people and operates from the end of May to the end of October. The refuge's winter season starts in early March and lasts until mid/late April, depending on weather and snow cover conditions. 

Giosos Apostolidis

The refuge "Giosos Apostolidis" was built in 1961, by the S.E.O of Thessaloniki at an altitude (2,697m) on a privately owned plot. In the year 1962, the second floor was added, thus increasing the number of guests to 80 people. The refuge operates continuously from early June to October, and the rest of the year in consultation with the managers. During the winter season, the refuge vestibule is always open as an emergency refuge.

Koromilia

The refuge of Koromilia, near the village of Dion and the foot of Mount Olympus, offers easy access either by car via a forest road, or by hiking via a path from Rema Orlias. It can be used as a starting point to visit the Petrostruga Sanctuary and the Plateau of the Muses. The shelter has a two-story building with 18 beds in 3 rooms, with its own bathroom and a full kitchen on the ground floor that caters for all dietary needs.

Krevatia

The Krevatia refuge is located on the north side of Olympus, at an altitude of 1008 meters, offering a spectacular view towards the slopes of the mountain. It was built in 2001 by the Pieria Forestry Department and has been operating as a shelter since 2004. The area takes its name from the open air infirmary and hospital that operated there during the guerilla war. It has 20 sleeping places and is the main starting point for hiking the Plateau via the Barbala Ridge, as well as other mountain trails.
